Medicine Study in Germany
SPECIALISED TRAINING (GASTARZT) -GUEST DOCTOR– OBSERVERSHIP- -INTERNSHIP-RESEARCH PROJECTS
Specialisation in a
field of medicine is not part of University education inGermany. It is part of a
regular employment in a hospital.
The chance to get a regular employment is minimal and without very good
knowledge of the German language impossible.
Second possibility is an employment in a hospital without payment, supported by
a scholarship. The requirements are:
1. German language, fluently
2. Scholarship from an official authority in country of origin or domicile
3. German medical licence (required documents are listed as fallow)
Please note that you may not exercise any surgery in certain disciplines
(e.g.Ophtalmology)
Admission and documentation requirements
- CV (curriculum vitae), current and complete
- Certificate of birth
- If applicable : marriage certificate, birth certificate of children
- Good-standing-certificate/ ` no criminal record` from Ministry
- Statement that you are sent by your home country (please specify the reason)
- Final diploma of Medicine with SINGLE grades of every subject
- Detailed description and locality of your University
- Overview of practical experience so far (normally about 1 ½ year/ where, what - and how long?)
- Testimonials of practical work
- Letter of recommendation
- Attestation of your financial support throughout your complete residency
- Certifications of language courses in German B2 ( - completed, running or planned);
- the level `B2`(Goethe institute) is necessary to get the work permit (guest doctor)
- Full insurance cover ( health)
